Happy New Year!

I just wrote an email to my mom this afternoon telling her about our New Year's Eve activities. The following is an excerpt from that about our experience with the new addition to the Stock family, Adeline Josephine.

"We spent a quiet New Year's Eve with Mike and the Stocks, Adeline included. Kyle and Christina take turns holding and rocking Addy so she doesn't cry. That seemed to be the goal - do whatever you thought you should do to keep her from crying. There's hardly an idle moment where she doesn't make that face like, "I'm gonna scream bloody murder in a second. Watch out!" Once she's sleeping they could play a game or chat with us. But one of them was usually up walking around with her or changing her or holding her while she slept. I don't know if I said this before but, Kyle is amazing. He's just as "present" as Christina is. Totally a 50/50 effort in dividing duties and time with Addy. If Christina fed Addy, Kyle burped her. If Christina changed Addy, Kyle "shushed" and rocked her to sleep. Its what I would expect Geoff and I to do too...... just nice to see that there are normal, accountable males out there. You hear so often that a dad wont change a diaper or help out. That is total BS and a woman should get a clue if there's a loser like that in the picture. In my opinion..... :)."

So, a "thank you" to the Stocks for spending time with us this weekend.  It was delightful, educational and not a bit of an imposition - your daughter is beautiful and interesting to the max.

And I leave you with a pic of Beatrice Maudie Wallner, attempting to ring in the new year with zest:
