It would appear I've made it my unofficial New Year's Resolution to see all the live music I can this year.

Just last week I bought 4 lawn seats to see Aerosmith and ZZ Top on July 19th. A few weeks before that, I bought tickets to a mid-September Metallica show. Whenever I get down about Dallas, I remember that I'm seeing acts that don't visit places like Austin. The two largest cities see the big time concert action (Big D and H-town). I've seen a ton of concerts since I've lived here:

-Adele
-Foo Fighters
-Alice in Chains (with new front man of course)
-Velvet Revolver
-Jimmy Eat World
-Van Halen (Diamond Dave leading)
-Huey Lewis (and the News!)
-Jason Mraz (featuring the Grooveline Horns!)
-Joe Satriani
-Mountain (famous for Mississippi Queen)
-Various artists at the Dallas International Guitar Festival

Others that frequent Austin:

-Eric Johnson
-Bob Schneider
-Hayes Carll
-South Austin Jug Band
-The Gourds
-Groupo Fantasma

Others:
-Cas Haley

(I will add to this list as I think of more.)

Just seeing this list makes me realize that I have access to great music and entertainment....as much as I'm willing to pay for anyway. Speaking of.... I need to cool it for a little while. All these tickets, including an Austin City Limits Festival 3 day pass aren't cheap!

The Granada is the ultimate venue in Dallas for non-football stadium filling bands. So glad its here. I could probably go to a show every week. Anytime I want to see Bob Schneider, Monte Montgomery or other regional music, I have the option.
